Balance protections


Capacitor protection relays are used to protecting of madium and large scale capacitor banks in MV and HV. Their main purpose is early failure detection of capacitor strip(s) thus saving the other capacitors or whole battery by early shut down of stricken capacitor. These relays are intended to basic connection of condenser batteries with H-connection and double-star connection. There they evaluated the unbalanced current of basic harmonic in real time.  

 

BO-01FA

Two-stage capacitor protection relay without the native unbalance compensation. The relay has single current input used to indirect measurement of current unbalance on MTP secondary winding. The relay responds to rms value of basic harmonic component of measured unbalance  current.

BO-01KA

Two-stage capacitor protection relay with the native unbalance compensation. The relay uses two current inputs to measuring reference current of phase L1 and current unbalance in condenser battery diagonal. The relay allows to vector compensation of battery native unbalance due reference current, thus responds with better accuracy to the failure of condenser strips.

BO-01KA

BO-03FA

Two-stage capacitor protection relay without the native unbalance compensation and with three current inputs. This relay is intended for three independent single-phase batteries in either H- or double-star connection. The relay evaluate each input indepently thus working as three separate BO-01FA relays.

BO-03FA

BO-03FH

This relay is designed particularly for coupling filters of Ripple Control transmitters up to HV level. The relay used three highly sensitive and selective current inputs for measurements at diagonals of batteries with H-connection. The maesurement is modified so the relay responds to minor 50 Hz component and fully suppresed the major component used by Ripple Control.

BO-03FH

BO-08F 

Voltafge capacitor protection relay developed specially for coupling filters of Ripple Control transmitters up to HV level. The relay evaluates unbalance voltage of three H-connected condenser batteries. Unbalance voltage is converted to the frequency by MV voltage divider and electronic converter at HV ptential. The frequency is then transmitted to the control unit by optical isolater and subsequently evaluated.
